SOG KNIVES
What the manufacture says: Double Action Revolver…two blades in one? For those who can never decide between a clip point and a tanto blade, now you don’t have to. For those who can’t decide between a partially serrated blade and a straight edge, now you don’t have to. For those who want to get two blades for the price of one, now you have to! The Double Action Revolver’s secret is simply twice the capability for the same size and weight. Utilizing patented technology developed by Robbie Roberson, you can depress the locking lever (hidden in handle) and rotate the blade to transform the knife into a saw. It’s so easy, so cool, that you’ll wonder why it wasn’t done a long time ago. The Double Action Revolver comes standard with a new look in blade shape that is not only functional, but distinctive. A straight edge tanto blade serves as a backup in the handle. The 1/2 serrated clip-point SEAL blade features a forward thumb rest for increased dexterity and downward pressure. A glass-reinforced Zytel® handle hides the stainless steel liners, which ensure strength and quality. And as always, SOG’s edges are razor sharp. Whether you’re camping or crusading, why not pack twice the capability with the Double Action Revolver? It just might transform your idea of what a knife should be. What Texas Safari Says: This is absolutely the best knife I have ever used. On a recent pig hunt to the Double C Ranch my guide, Oscar Lonbarana, used my Double Action Revolver to field dress, skin, and quarter three pigs without having to stop to re-sharpen once. Oscar even used the blade end of the Revolver to cut the head free from a 160 pound behemoth of a boar with no trouble at all. "I've never cut a hog's head off without having to use a saw," Oscar declared. The only problem I encountered while testing the Revolver was with the leather sheath. The inside of the belt loop on the sheath was easily worn down by friction from my belt, leaving small leather shavings covering my belt. However, this seems a small price to pay for a knife of this quality. Field Pup
What the manufacture says: SOG is famous for their high quality, reasonably priced fixed blades and stylish, innovative designs. The new Field Pup is a beautiful knife with its nice satin finish, usually found on very expensive knives. It is just about the right size and weight to be unobtrusive yet universally functional, making it suitable for a variety of tasks including camping chores, food preparation, hunting and fishing, etc. It's comfortable to use with its tactile Kraton molded handle that form fits the full tang blade. SOG’s trademarked finger grips are combined with aggressive thumb notches on the back of the blade, making the Field Pup a real working knife. The blade is also protected by a new hybrid black leather/Kydex sheath. What Texas Safari Says: I used the Field Pup on a recent axis doe hunt. In addition to looking to stock my freezer, I was after a couple of axis pelts to turn into throw pillows for a friend. The Field Pup's razor sharp edge made skinning the coats an easy and quick job. I'm proud to say that I removed two pelts without poking any holes in them thanks to the small size and ease of the knife. Although the Field Pup might be considered too small for use in field dressing or actual butchering, it is a superb knife for skinning and other uses around the camp. I plan on taking a few Field Pups on my next trip to Africa to give to my skinners as gifts--they are that good. Contact SOG Knives at www.sogknives.com |
